Hot Weather

When the weather is very hot, we may take the decision to delay sending your chocolate out to minimise risk of melting. Please keep this in mind if you are ordering it for a specific date, as it could mean it takes the dispatch time to over 15 working days so we would always recommend checking the forecast.

Dispatch time

We aim to dispatch all orders as quickly as possible but please allow up to 10 working days for dispatch only (excluding weekends and bank holidays). We hand make everything here at The Chocolate Smiths and want to make sure you receive quality choccy!

We send everything 48hr Tracked Delivery with Royal Mail - UK only - £3.95

With 48hr tracked delivery we are able to see exactly where your order is and you are able to see when it's going to be delivered. At the moment Royal Mail are stretched, but most of our parcels are arriving within the stated time. Please allow an extra couple of working days though, just in case.

Temperature control

Whilst the weather is hot we may take the decision to delay sending your parcel but we will always keep you informed.

During hot weather we also label your order with instructions to keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources so that the risk of melting is minimised further when being transported to you.

Your order is also kept chilled until collection from our premises.

However, we do not take any responsibility for melting as the weather is out of our control, although we do as much as possible to prevent this!

Preorder items

Shipping times apply to all products that do not state 'preorder'. If a product you have ordered is a preorder item, please refer to the individual product page or your confirmation email for turnaround times. Nothing else in your order will be posted until your preorder item is ready to go.

International Shipping

We do ship outside of the UK as long as your order is under 2kg. Please allow up to 10 working days for your order to be dispatched. We send all international items tracked with Royal Mail.

Orders outside of the UK may be subject to customs charges. Unfortunately these are the customer’s responsibility and not the sellers so we are unable to take on any charges placed on the goods.

If your order is over 2kg - UK only DPD tracked

If your order is over 2kg we send your order via DPD tracked courier. This service is £5.50 and provides full tracking details and updates, as well as a delivery time slot.
